How do I get started?

The first step is to fill out the contact form on the home page, or reach out via email/phone. NFTS will reach out to you to schedule an initial session.


During the initial session you can expect to go over: 

- Informed Consent

- Confidentiality agreement

- Payment methods and agreement

- Timeline of Therapy

- Intake Assessment

- Risk Assessment

The initial session usually takes approximately 90 minutes to complete. 

What are accepted methods of payment?

We currently do not accept insurance. We have individual session fees;

- $75/session

- Workshops vary in price depending on size of group.

- We accept cash, check, or card

What If I can't afford it?

If money prevents you from taking the next step in your healing journey, let the therapist know and we can work with you.

What are the factors of confidentiality?

Ethical codes uphold and state that therapists must maintain confidentiality and confidentiality of client information (see HIPPA laws). Legal codes prevent the therapist from upholding confidentiality in these given circumstances; if someone is a danger to themselves or others and circumstances of abuse and/or neglect.

How can I sign up for attending a community group?

Reach out to therapist if you are interested in a community group session.

Can Nicholasville Family Therapy Services prescribe medication?

Therapists are not able to prescribe medication to clients. If medication is indicated, Nicholasville Family Therapy Services will refer you to someone who can help assist with this process. The first stop will always be with your primary care physician about medication.

What if there is an emergency or mental health crisis? What about after hours?

If you are experiencing a mental health crisis and cannot get ahold of a therapist, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.  A therapist will try to call you back and assess for risk and help create a plan to keep you and/or your love one safe.


Always be cautious about mental health crisis and reach out if you are in need of immediate services. 

NFTS does have an after hours number if you are in need of emergent services. If you cannot reach NFTS call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
